Waste Management
Improper handling or disposal of certain types of waste could be illegal and create unsafe conditions. Improper sharps disposal is a major concern as sharps could be misplaced onto patient food trays or into dirty linen and trash bags. Sharps must be disposed of immediately in approved sharps containers, without recapping the needle.
