Pest Control Unit
The Pest Control staff is responsible for preventing, controlling, or eliminating any type of structural pest problem. We use an Integrated Pest Management program to reduce the occurrence of pest issues and minimize pesticide use. PCU provides proactive service including exclusion, harborage reduction through sanitation, early detection and effective communication with the University community.
Our pest technicians are on duty Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm. Pest complaints from any University of Rochester property should be called in to the Environmental Health & Safety Office at 275-3241. If your call goes to voice mail or is placed after hours, please leave a detailed message identifying your location, your name, a contact phone number and the nature of the complaint. Complaints of an emergency nature after hours or on the weekend should be directed to Public Safety at ext. 13 or 275-3333. Public Safety will then contact our staff if necessary to handle these incidents.
